Who’s the last hope for 4th gen boy group to score a hit in Korea?

Even Nmixx’s panned debut song charts higher on Melon Daily than all recent 4th gen boy group songs. But if there is one last hope, one boy group to save the scene, who would it be? Txt, Enhypen, Treasure, Ateez, Stray Kids, The Boyz, who among them?

TXT, if they release something like blue hour/ runaway. Even though I like GBGB I think I would have been way better to release a pop song since summer is just around the corner. wasted opportunity imo

I think Korea lumped all boygroups as noise music. When your main sushi place is closed for remodeling and you try out 3 new places and you end up getting sick all 3 times, sometimes you need to take a hiatus from eating sushi, eh? I don't think a hit is coming for another year no matter the song.

Simply a cute/soft song is not going to be enough lmao. If that was the case, we'd already have domestic hit from a 4th gen bg.

Virality is a 4th gen bg's best shot at getting a hit. I think there's four major requirements for that to happen:

• Something that stands out a lot from the rest a lot. (This is why I think Stray Kids have a lot better chances than some people would think)
• Palpable to someone who isn't a boy group stan already. (TBZ are the furthest from this from all your examples) And by that I don't mean free from EDM and a literal ballad. Girl groups' successes have shown people who think like that are wrong. It's specific bg clichés that should be avoided: such is the lack of thematic cohesion, certain EDM genres without an unique flair being added to the song, not digestible enough for the average man who doesn't have an issue with listening to kpop but doesn't seek it out, etc. you get the gist. something you'd see performed in generic black outfits in a generic led-lit box
• good timing
• have....some fans. just don't be a total nugu with 30 kfans total
• (and of course luck)

All of them already had comebacks and only treasure and enhypen bsides had good longevity, but it's not enough to be called as successful as o.o or Wadada.

so the group hasn't debuted yet, maybe smnbg or the new hybe bg could have better luck.
