lets talk about loona's 'fillers'

    this is not a hate thread to set loona girls up, but rather to prove that loona is complete as 12 by inserting convincing proofs. lets begin the analysis. also, please insert any extra information to further prove that none of the girls are filler.


    so far it has been universally accepted that the core members of loona is these 7 girls, which are,

    heejin - center vocal dance rap visual

    kimlip - vocal dance

    yves - vocal dance

    jinsoul - vocal rap visual

    chuu - vocal fotg

    olivia hye - dance rap

    choerry - vocal dance


    and the 5 mistreated and considered 'filler' members are the following - gowon yeojin vivi haseul hyunjin


    HYUNJIN - she is definitely NOT a filler member. at first i was skeptical of what she was going to bring to the group aside from her visual, and after watching her stage of masked singer, i fully retract my previous skepticism and support her because girl can sing but bbc keeps hiding their best visual in the closet. she is also known as the robot girl due to her dead blank expression during stages, but shake it performance proves that she shines in bright concept compared to girl crush, in which some of the core members dominate. she is literally more than a visual title holder because she can showcase far more, if given the chance. knowing bbc, this will never happen lol. she had her main character moment during why not mv but that still is not enough.


    HASEUL - i can never understand the stigma around her being a filler member and visual hole when she can literally sing better than half of these girls. she is NOT a filler member, sure she may lack stage presence but to be fair bbc gave her shitty lines that can be easily sing by sub-vocalists. we need loonatheballad soon to prove than haseul can sing !!!


    GOWON - she is sitting on the line between her being filler and not because while whatever she is bringing to the table can be easily done by the other members, she proves to be a stan attractor due to her ethereal aura and elegant beauty. she may lack vocal talent to back her up but she is actually decent in dance category, with some saying she is of equivalent level with general lead dancers. she also have her visual to back her up, making her more stand out than the others. she alone can generate as many fans if bbc utilised her well, but since she is being pushed to the back, the 'filler' label is still going to haunt her till her death.


    the one that i am unsure to write about is YEOJIN and VIVI. both girls can be easily outshined by the other members, and they have no strong feature to back them up. vivi being a chinese did not help bbc to expand their chinese market, and hence she is being labelled as 'filler'. what do you guys think?

    if they cared so much the tons of universally liked Loona songs and MVs wouldnt be sitting at a few million views

    Filler is probably too harsh, but I genuinely feel there are some members who aren't as critical to the group. Note that I don't dislike any of them, but just from what I've seen and noticed watching their content.


    Haseul - she's a main vocal who gets less lines than everyone except Gowon, Vivi and maybe Hyunjin. I think the biggest problem here is she has a very generic vocal colour/tone. Similar to Yves, but Yves is the best dancer and Haseul's probably the weakest. Compared to Chuu, Heejin and LipSoul where you can immediately identify their parts.


    Yeojin - she's middle/bottom of the pack when it comes to singing and dancing. Her biggest problem is that she just doesn't fit the look of the group. You've got like 9 or 10 glamazons who can go so hard, and then you have Yeojin who's this smol little thing. She just looks really out of place in the group, especially when they are not doing the cuter concepts.


    Vivi - yeah she's the foreign member, but genuinely feel she doesn't bring a lot to the group otherwise. She's not like a Twice line, Sakura, Xiaoting, NingNing, Yuqi kind of foreign fan attractor. She gets no lines, and is one of the weakest dancers. Supposedly a visual member, but I don't really see it. She really only seems tight with 1/3 girls (mostly Haseul).


    The two which are on the fence are probably Gowon and Hyunjin. Honestly for me, if you look at the whole group dynamic, Gowon fits in so much better and should be considered core. She gets no lines, but her chemistry with the members is probably the best out of everyone. She's great in all their non-music content. Effortlessly funny and shady.


    Hyunjin on the other hand - should be the visual, but just not pushed here at all. She seems to be a bit of an outsider some times, just does her own thing and comes off as pretty damn weird sometimes. She's like completely middle of the pack with vocals and dance. Just easily replaceable imo. Like you could give all her vocal and dance focussed sections to Choerry and it would just be better.

    Undeniably members that stand out are Choerry, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Heejin, Yves, and Chuu. I can see the group working without other members but it would definitely feel emptier without one of these 6.


    Other members at least are visuals or sing or perform well though.


    But Yeojin and Vivi are definitely the fillers.

    Yes there are fillers and they should have debuted only those 7


    Heejin, Chuu, Kim Lip, Yves, Olivia, Jinsoul, Choerry - That would have been an A+ tier group.


    Instead they added a bunch of people to make up 12 for the girl of the month concept.

    Those other 5 either don't fit the concept or are weak and unecessary.

    I also note that you seem to be using visuals as a reason for why some of these members are not filler - Hyunjin may be pretty but she is so blank on screen it's distracting. There's no use being pretty if you completely lack charisma.

    Hyunjin is actually one of the members with the most potential vocally but she didn't get trained....so.


    A lot of Loona's meme culture really came out of Hyunjin and Gowon, and why they're so important to their dynamics. Hyunjin is also quite popular in Korea, but less so internationally.


    Technically tho Choerry is now the least/2nd least popular member with Haseul..Vivi on the international side has rabid token fans, and the same of Yeojin in Korea...not much of that for Choerry & Gowon.


    Hyunjin's becoming more popular (like 5th/6th?) in Korea but she is usually just regarded for her meme face. They should send her on variety because she's good. The first visual who's the best at variety in her group.

    imo Yeojin, Choerry & Vivi are filler members


    Olivia Hye does what Choerry does, but better, Olivia has more charisma as well


    Yeojin is average in most departments


    Vivi is very similar to Gowon, but Gowon clearly has more potential


    9 member lineup:


    Heejin - vocal, dance

    Kim Lip - vocal

    Jinsoul - vocal

    Haseul - vocal

    Chuu - vocal

    Olivia Hye - dance / subrap

    Yves - Vocal, dance, rap

    Gowon - subvocal, cute

    Hyunjin - visual, dance

    choerry is one of the best dancer in loona after Heejin and yves but I agree Olivia is really charismatic

    if I have to mention fillers that would be Hyujin and vivi

    Actually i would take out Cherry and put in Hyunjin. I think visual stan attractors are more important than another performer especially when you already have ace Heejin.

    The ones that surely dont feel like fillers to me are


    Yves

    Chuu

    Kim lip

    Heejin

    Jinsoul


    Aka the stan attractors


    But choerry cant be a filler when she have the best solo song and is in the best subunit so I add her


    The other members have their qualities but arent essential, i honestly dont get the hype about olivia

    They have way too many members. What is Vivi’s purpose in Loona if the company is not even utilizing her? I reckon they would be more successful if they take out half or some of the members.
