i think the more the idol has fans romantically or sexually atracted to him/her the more dramatic is the reaction when their dating life is revealed to the public. maybe that's why some ggs who appeal more to girls and gay men usually they fans don't care that much, meanwhile the ones who appeal more to straight men usually gets worse reactions, same for bgs who appeal more to straight women.
