Nmixx debut will be the biggest mystery in kpop for years

  • Worldwide flop without the fandom power, yet somehow managing to sell so many albums more than a month after album release lol not even twice was selling this good :melon_think: what’s going on here?

  • I think fans will be more careful in future about pre-ordering a project that know absolutely nothing about. Especially if it comes from JYP. (Which it probably will as they intend to debut 3 more groups this year.)

  • I hate to be that person since I love jyp groups but the sales seem fake? I think jype thought OO would be a smash hit so wanted to match the sales, but it clearly didn’t work out that way..

  • I think people might be slowly warming up to their songs. I've seen a ton of people begin liking them a week or so after their release. And the members are nice and talented; people beginning to stan a group for not the music first isn't a new phenomenon in kpop.

  • There is no mystery: extremely cheap album + Japanese fanmeet lotteries = massive boost to album sales.

But if JYPE are prepared to go this far, they'll probably not be afraid to use some other (shadier) ways too. Who knows :/

JYPE are obviously desperate. But hey, it works!

This might be the beginning of a new era, where companies will superboost their group's sales any way possible :-)

  • yeah it's still a mystery to me. Some groups sell well for a reason like chinese or japanese fandoms. meanwhile i have no idea where are nmixx fans coming from

  • aren't most of their album sales pre orders. most of the people who ordered it didn't know what the songs would sound like

  • they sell that much because they still have an on going online fansign and uncle fans hoard a lot of albums just get in.

  • JYP is desperate to make them look successfull, so he forced them to do a billion of fansign to sell this album

  • Itzy have more potential jyp is weird for pushing this group so much.

  • I really don't understand the fansign explanation. Every group has them but no one is selling this much because of it. They just have a pull that's the only explanation.

The fact that some of the members are underage, sadly, means that many of "those" kinds of fans in Korea/Japan are buying up big.

Another reason for sales I think is just the massive explosion of kpop sales in the past year in general. All releases are selling stupid high by comparison to a few years back. Hell, weeeklys "flop" newest release is their highest selling release. Fans everywhere are just throwing money around.

  • Wait I thought their album is “limited edition” as people can only buy them from the preorder? What happened?

  • So why is fansigns sales not legit, but ebegging and mass money collection for sales from China is?

Both sets of sales end up in the land fill anyway.
