Why NCT dream have been able to gather a Korean fandom with non friendly songs but 4th gen BG can't ???

they weren't doing experimental songs at the start, their early sound is more friendly and soft, kinda like ggs songs (weren't some of their title tracks meant for red velvet?) and maybe that helped them gain loyal kfans, because they prefer that kind of image (young and fresh boys singing about summer or first love) and even if they changed now they don't mind because they already stan the group.

they also debuted before the 4th gen started so they had a big market all for themselves and focused on korean promotions unlike newer bgs + sm doesn't overdo things with them (or even 127). sometimes kfans will criticize the 4th gen groups looking like bad boys too much and having over the top styling/concepts. i don't know how to explain it but dream doing experimental songs don't look similar to other bgs doing similar music, it's not as aggressive. maybe it's about how the company presents them (make-up, outfits, even expressions, etc) what makes a bigger difference than the song itself.
