Why don’t any 4th gen boy groups appeal to men?

  • 2nd gen we have Big Bang, 3rd gen we have Block B. Both have sizable number of male fans. But why don’t any 4th gen groups like Txt, Stray Kidz, Treasure,…appeal to men?

Generally they like groups closer to a KRnB, KHipHop concept. Not so much "pop", BTOB's ballads are also pretty popular with men. We haven't gotten groups like that until maybe Trainee A? But they're very foreigner focused so I doubt that group in particular, but around the same vein.

  • Don't know about others but treasure has a lot of male fans, they went on blip, a yt channel that studies the groups statistics and they got 60:40 f-m ratio.

They got the best ratio out of all groups being tested on the channel.

And this was also filmed before the comeback, which made them gain even more fans, so it could have changed slightly.

    They talk about it 19.04

  • It’s not like many 3rd Gen groups are attracting male fans anyways. Apart from block b, BTS….who else?

  • i liked a lot of male groups in the past

    upto exo-bts era i'd say

the 2nd-3rd gen bgs werent masculine per se but they had this dark edgy vibe

and yeah they could atleast pass for suave if not manly

bgs nowadays look and sound like children

and im not saying thats objectively bad

    i get their appeal

    its just not for me

if im gonna consume feminine aesthetics, there's already plenty of good GGs out there so why bother

I do still have a soft spot for BGs but the current ones are just not cutting it
