IMO, he's career path as a solo artist is kind of unpredictable because I don't think he has found his niche as an artist just yet. Plus he hasn't work outside of hybe projects.
I think he will do very well solo. He is very versatile like J-hope and lets admit J-hope is killing it with his solo projects.
Jungkook could have a huge solo carreer (while still being a member of bts ofc), but hybe is probably gonna fuck it up. JK is, together with the others of the ML the biggest idols atm & yet, hybe keeps using the hype of their first solo's for their irrelevant non music content.

Stay Alive did amazing for what it was, but it's clear that jk couldn't care much for it. he was completely silent while it was out & started promoting other songs the moment he could (while he was so excited to share SWY).
call me a manti all you want, but i'm completely convinced hybe don't want the boys to be too big individually, unless they can use it (purely) for their own gain.
he still seems very unsure of his mixtape & admits to being a perfectionist about it, but seeing how his previous selfmade songs are absolutely gold & had huge potentials, whatever he will release in the end, will be incredibly well made & completely him. He has a very Main Pop dude kind of voice. I can totally see him dominating the western world. also, not a fan of jb, but i could see a collab between them working very well.

I doubt Hybe will promote another solo activity if that is not Hybe's, they probably just do bare minimum like Christmas tree, just a single Tweet.
I don’t know why the only solo song he’s released has been an OST for a flop HYBE-pushed webtoon that no one was hyped for. Not even the fans.
There’s no reason he can’t do a song for an actual real drama or just a loose single or something.
Also, the webtoon turned a lot of fans off because they see it as yet another cash grab from HYBE. It just puts a bad taste in my mouth. BH can’t let their main vocalist sing an OST for a kdrama, but they’ll use him to peddle their latest BTS spin off? Doesn’t make sense.
SWY is a masterpiece. It would have topped melon if it was released on digital platforms.
Even tho Stay Alive is a beautiful song, its forgettable.
