    You can't just take album sales which are heavily inflated in kpop and say x group is global. If I were discussing global artists with random non kpop fans they would mention taylor, adele, justin bieber, ed sheeran, etc. They would go "who" if I named seventeen or nct

    The only global groups are BTS and Blackpink. Seventeen's sales, streams get surpassed by rookies and they're even less recognized worldwide than other groups. Twice is only popular in Japan, everything else is an affect of fandom strength so no, they're not global either

    The only global group is bts. The rest can't compare to them even when combined...

    For everyone saying Blackpink... What is their highest every position on IFPI Global Artist s again... I think BTS are number one twice in a row so I guess Blackpink must be pretty close from what everybody is saying right... Certainly not a lower high than Seventeen who are apparently nugu right...

    bp has made a brand of themselves, which was very smart. they actually don't have that many credible awards to their name (no entree in the IFPI global artist list, no big western awards, no big nominations,..), but their global position has been established otherwise. seventeen's brand is established mainly in asia.

    I'm laughing at some users here saying that only BTS is the only global group?

    Remind you, Global means it's not only about the west. If it's west definitely it's only BTS

    But talking about global, BP has china, SEA, and a little bit of the west and somewhat a partial of india.

    huh? I know the album made it to 5, and Seventeen 's top 10 on the album list, and both weren't on the top 10 artist list.

    people are really getting brave here talking about bp and i know exactly which fandoms they are also the ifpi thing, their last album was released in 2020 and it made it into top 5 in global album chart at the time making them the gg after Destiny's Child to do so, not a single 2010s gg did that let alone another kpop gg. Also anticipate their cb, they will make sure to put some of your favs in their places.
