It's actually worse for Twice than you make out to be compared to SNSD.
SNSD since Gee always had a song in the top 10 of the charts and stayed there for weeks. This lasted until their final CB in 2019 where holiday basically flopped on the charts debuting at like just inside top 20. However it did do well internationally and sakes wise it was their fastest selling album till SM stopped stocking it. That was their 10th year so it was too be expected that there drop off.
Twice meanwhile were already struggling since more and more which didn't last in the charts. Now in their 6th year, 2021, their latest CB flopped hard and was barely able to break the 80s. That is faaar worse than SNSD who were further into their career, had big scandals and kpop was in a transition period where 2g groups were dying off.
Their physical sales are still good but that's not really a fair comparison as physical market is much bigger now. Aespa debut mini outsold all of SNSD Korean albums in one go, it took Twice a few years to beat just best SNSD and they still needed multiple versions to do so.
Public wise Twice are faaaar behind SNSD. SNSD early on were constantly on TV getting high ratings, members were high in demand for TV appearances, lots group and solo cfs, individual member popularity was high including 2 IT girls. Twice meanwhile don't have much individual popularity (Red Velvet members and BP are much more will known), their last group appearance on radio star was one of the lowest ratings in years meanwhile Hyoyeon appeared a few weeks later and she got one of the highest in recent times.
You could even argue the amount of hype among Korean public only SNSD in 2022 are more popular than Twice. Taeyeon is still rocking charts, Yoona is still IT girl plus successful actress, half the members are actresses and even Hyoyeon, the last popular often still gets high ratings on TV shows she appears on.
all you said are the pure facts so people will not take it nicely

honestly I always think once are just setting up twice by comparing then with SNSD. There is literally no comparison, SNSD is always SNSD. Twice has nowhere near the same impact SNSD have, I will not even elaborate because don't wanna shade Twice it is not their fault their fans are like that but let me just assure you SNSD is cultural impact is still relevant still has a big brand value and all their individual members are crazy popular and when was their last CB? SNSD reached levels which are yet to be meeted by other ggs and this is not shade but what do expect from a bunch of haters keep telling yourself lies this won't change the fact SNSD will always be on another level, what they did is unheard of

Snsd was not making hits outside of 2009-2011. There songs were doing queendom level in digital charts after that besides some exception that did a bit better or a bit worse
with snsd charting never defined the ngg status, it was always everything else. They kept their name alive by thriving in acting cfs
SNSD's The Boys (2011), Dancing Queen (2012), I Got A Boy (2013), Mr. Mr. (2014) and Party (2015) all ranked 1st on chart, Lion Heart (2015) ranked 4th.
Queendom (Red Velvet?) ranked 5th.
TWICE's Fancy (2019) ranked 3rd, Feel Special ranked 9th, More & More (2020) ranked 4th, ICSM 8th, Alcohol-Free (2021) ranked 6th, Scientist 32nd.
Thats a difference. SNSD might not have had the most successful hit song of each year, they were still able to make hit songs that could top the charts.
But to get back at what was asked in the first post. JYP cannot predict how successful his groups will be. It's also not as if JYP company has given up on SK: if that was true, they wouldnt release any Korean comebacks and albums but do everything in English.
And ITZY and TWICE still do not bad on charts and in popularity, only not as good as some other groups and not as good as they themselves did a few years back. And JYP not allowing his groups to do solo activities much is not helping too.
But things can change: as soon as ITZY and TWICE have a new megahit comeback, everything will be different again.

your comparing different systems, snsd time it was easy to get a #1 with fandom power and hype but hard to sustain that if the song wasn’t actually a hit. Those songs might have hit number one but I wouldn’t call them huge hits like their 2009-2011 songs

Of course situations are different: album sales, streams, downloads, charts, international popularity, everything is fluid and changing over time. Like mentioned, if people want to compare they should keep that in mind.
Theres a difference between saying that a group isnt making the top hit of each year and saying theyre not making hits at all.
SNSD still had a lot of songs that were hit songs after 2011, songs that did a lot better than Red Velvet's Queendom or TWICE's songs of the past years.
But this is all a big distraction and too much attention to things that have nothing to do at all with what the thread maker was asking. So lets put aside this whole discussion that has little to nothing to do with the thread makers questions and focus on what the thread was originally about. Which was the interest of Koreans in JYPs girl groups and if and why that changed.

I think it has to do with the image of the group and company, for some reason sm ggs are usually loved over there and not only for a few years. RV after Irene controversy still got to do fine with their last comeback and we'll see how they do with the next one and if they join 3rd gen flopping club or not

So first SNSD weren't making "hits" (your own words) after 2010.
Then someone shows they are as they got multiple number 1s after 2010.
Now the goalpost is moved because you say it was easier back to get number 1 so it doesn't count.
The level of copium you take, careful you don't overdose yourself.
Can't edit my post. I meant 2011 not 2010.

Hilarious how onces think snsd wasn't making hits but twice never got the biggest song even for a girl group except 2016. Snsd was still holding on the top album sales but blackpink took everything away from twice. Also individual popularity wise snsd was far ahead. Twice is never having a taeyeon in their group. No talent to have one. Its embarrassing that onces are comparing sales and streams to snsd because they can't do it with blackpink anymore.

Once and JYP stans as usual fighting about stupid stuff again, if it isnt fighting with Blinks, then its with MYs, if it isnt with Mys then its with Sones and on and on

And about what? Comparing groups in different times?! Too funny

and they say they are peaceful

Well this got entertaining fast
Sones taking care of business lol -
Songs becoming generic as in rehashed

people have long complained that JYP's production and style are old fashioned and JYP fails to adapt with the times (mostly due to relying on Park Jin Young's hit or miss judgement). I think JYP has failed to evolve and deliver new and exciting things the public are curious about like SM and YG have learned to do
