I’m worried about Wonyoung

There is so much hate surrounding her lately that it’s become hard to witness.

When the Freezia hate train started in Korea tons of PANN comments and tweets were using Wonyoung as an example of mass hate… It seems really severe in Korea too and apparently it’s a known fact. There are multiple videos on the korean side of YouTube mocking her singing, criticizing her for dancing “lazily” ( the famous head twist, and, I kid you not, one time she just didn’t lift her leg fast enough. )

The comments are all in korean and it’s always between 10k and 15k likes saying word for word that she only cares about looking pretty.

And at least her popularity in Korea balances out the hate but internationally??? Barely anyone seems to be on her side

There are Tiktoks with more than 200k likes moving like a Mnet survival show and editing clips of her to make her look bad and everyone buys it. A harmless YouTube short of her speaking english was on my recommended and the comments were all negative with tons of likes calling her cringe, saying things like “why does she act so confident” “her smile is fake” “she’s not even that pretty” “plastic surgery” bla bla

A video with tons of views and all the comments are calling her a pick me???? I could go on and on and on

It’s hilarious because ifans are the first ones to insult Knetz for being toxic but do the same thing to her. It’s been this way since she was 14 too. She’s a literal high schooler but people treat her like she killed someone.

According to her members she never complains or says when something’s weighing on her so I’m worried. I wish she couldn’t see all that but let’s be real idols see what everyone has to say. IVE do too. At their last encore they were clearly aware of all the “”””criticism””” (lol) surrounding them : Wonyoung accidentally cutting the MC and stopping speaking right away, Yujin’s hands going to her to reassure her. Gaeul and Leeseo bowing to everyone on stage, they folded like paper. Y’all really scared a middle schooler she was bowing to the void at some point… Rei making sure not to skip the “ireum” part for which she got criticized so many times.

Anyways I’m frustrated

It’s sad. She did nothing to get so much hate. At least it means she’s popping off in popularity..

Hopefully it stops soon, it’s been shocking how much hate she’s been getting. Hopefully she’ll get a fanbase that can defend her.

literally wtf have the large fanbases been doing? They need to mobilize already, trend a hashtag, something to get Starahip's attention so they can get up off their lazy ass and protect their idol. As we've seen, especially most recently with the athlete and the BJ that hate comments are not a joke. Wonyoung says she doesn't let hate comments get to her and seems to have a strong mentality but I'm afraid the surface pressure could be getting to her and she's could be putting on a brave face.

people just hate seeing women succeeding and that's the ugly truth. she's going through the "IT girl trial" that every main pop girl experienced. unfortunately, this is what you get for being pretty, rich and popular at such young age. the good thing, on the other hand, is that all of the hate will eventually turn into success. just look at jennie and suzy and you'll understand. i believe in karma and i know everyone speaking ill of others will get what they deserve soon or later. all we can do is to continue supporting her and IVE
