I've noticed a lot of mys comparing Aespa debut albums to other groups without actually taking into consideration that Aespa debuted with a digital single. And then had another one that became a hit after that.
In the west, the term "comeback" is used typically after an artist has fell off and lost most of their hype or fame and is returning after a long period of time to rise back up.
In the Kpop industry however, we use the term "comeback" for every time an artist or group is releasing new music regardless of how long ago their last release was or how well it did.
I mention this because I think it's time we come up with the proper description for Aespa's "debut" album that doesn't follow the western definition just as the Kpop industry doesn't completely follow the Western definitions for everything.
What most accurately describes Aespa's album in relation to the Kpop industry is actually a "Comeback-debut album".
