As far as k-pop is concerned, was 2015 closer to 2012 or 2018?

If you ask me I'd say 2015 was closer to 2018, mainly because so much happened in k-pop in 2014 alone. Also by 2015, third gen groups were starting to dominate while many 2nd gen groups were starting to be on their last legs. What do you think?

I would say that 2015 kpop sounds closer to 2018 kpop than to 2012 kpop, mostly cuz I don't like much 2012 kpop lol

2018 because there was a bigger difference in concepts. the darker colored mvs and there were more colorful mvs.

or at least from my observations, i only got into kpop in 2017

I can't remember that far back tbh. I know 2012 was an epic year for K pop.

2012 was musically very much 2nd gen. For EXO at least the MAMA EP was very much a 2nd gen sound.

So 2018. I’d say even 2014 is closer to 2018.
