KPOP has been pushed as a competition. If you create the narrative of competition, that means you have to have a winner and a loser. People treat it almost like a sports team. You pick your team and for your team to "win", someone has to lose.
It's not even about just listening to the music anymore for some people. And people can't help their attraction to the Us versus Them narrative.

because when your favs charting well, it will reflect on how well the fans is doing IRL, the delulu, that's the only explanation why they are so determined on rankings, charts, sales, placements, etc.
Braggin rights. My favs is better, so therefore I am superior. They don't care what the artists does, they just want the numbers, you know those fans aren't doing it for the artists, they doing it for themselves

It's so wild to me that every time a big group does well, it's always 'OMG THEY PAVED THE WAY' and then you cut to another group doing something similar or doing just as well and you get comments like 'OMG THEY COPIED THEM, THEY DID IT FIRST'. Well shit, who the hell did they paved the way for then? Can't their juniors or colleagues have some of those pie? isn't paving the way exactly that?

Pretty sure that wasn't even about Iz*One. Most Knetz were were suspecting X1 members of being the trainees. You're straight up delusional too. Only 2/12 Iz*One members were revealed to have been rigged and I assure neither was Wonyoung or Yujin who consistently ranked high from the beginning of the show.

I had to quote you again because although I can't read Korean I can read names, but I clicked on the article to be sure that it was about X1, and after my phone translated sure enough "an anonymous trainee, under pressure from Starship" is literally from Produce X 101. The only thing this proves is that Starship isn't an entirely honest company but is otherwise irelevant to Wonyoung and Yujin themselves. How are you going to accuse them of something that didn't even happen during their show?

I will make several points below that are not exactly in perfect order, but I'm just gonna say this: If you get it, you get it and if you don't, you don't.
1. GGs have a much harder time remaining relevant as they rely more on GP (general public) support rather than dedicated fans when compared to BGs. And the GP is fickle and high-key misogynistic.
2. GGs can't serve prostitute fan service in the same way that many BGs do because they would be called out on it, degraded, and considered (insert misogynistic words that start with s,w, etc.) to retain a dedicated women attracted male stan base.
3. The majority of male GG fans are gay men and they treat women in the entertainment industry the way straight men treat sports teams.
4. GGs have a smaller fanbase due to the fact that the majority of K-pop fans are men attracted women (and girls) so it's natural BGs have a bigger fanbase which allows them to be successful without worrying that much that the ppl funding their main source of income will throw them out like a used toy they got bored of.
All of this means that the GG scene is much more competitive due to the nature of their fanbase and the fact that they attract more hate not only from other GG fans but from BG fans as well. Their supporters know that and are usually more cutthroat when it comes to defending their faves online and these fans usually resort to dirtier tactics and harsher words for other GGs.

Not sure if these are actually the main (or only) explanation for the differences in treatment, but it certainly would explain some things.
