If you are a bg stan, people will automatically think you're a fangirl.

if you are a gg stan, people do assume (but to a lesser extent) that you're a fanboy.

K-pop stan culture (or even pop stan culture) as a whole is unfairly stigmatized as stanning for looks, having a parasocial infatuation with idols, lusting for idols out of our league, etc.
What's ironic is that K-pop stans themselves would go to great lengths to stigmatize each other even further despite the fact that this blanket stigma is cast over all of them.
It's a hot topic at the moment with a lot of resentment built up over months and possibly even years.
