I want the evidence that Blackpink is losing hype

  • Give it to me!!

When I look at the list of most followed KPOP acts on Spotify in the last 24 hours, BP is always top 5 and almost always top 2

When I look at the most followed KPOP accounts on Instagram in the last 24 hours, it's always just BP and BTS

When I look at most streamed KPOP MVs on YT in the last 24 hours, I see KTL, D4, and Boombayah higher than most music videos released this year

When I look at the top 10 most streamed gg songs of 2021 on Spotify, 9/10 are Blackpink's old songs

When I look at girl group brand reputation, Blackpink is always top 5 and more often than not #1

When I look at Gallup Korea, Blackpink is the #1 girl group

Where is the evidence?? Where are the other girl groups swallowing BP's fanbase?? SOMEONE must be making a dent in their streaming numbers if they are losing all this hype to the "next" - who is it? If you're going to come here in anons and say BP are losing hype, I need the proof

    Approved the thread.
  • the mere fact they don’t have a comeback yet still the #1 GG on the prestigious gallup survey ¬‿¬

  • This always happens in their hiatus phase, from 2017 on. Kpop stans who dislike them get very excited and hopeful that their fans might have forgotten Blackpink exist. They always get disappointed.

  • blackpink's contracts are up next year and yg is planning to debut a new girl group this year. hype or not, their days are numbered. such is the fate of yg.

  • I would think anyone with some brain realizes BP are still the #1 girl group on almost every relevant metric globally and domestically. People saying the opposite are delulu antis or those who think their favs are 1 comeback away of surpassing them ^^

2ne1 were disbanded because of a drug scandal. It's not like YG stamps them with expiry dates.

And you're forgetting that Blackpink are literally the biggest girl group in the world. They may choose to move on in 2023 but YG would not be crazy enough to encourage it.

  • My evidence would be in spite of being the 'golden voice of Korea' and having a regular spot on TV both Rose's songs did mediocre to bad and Lisa, the Blink proclaimed, biggest Kpop star ever had title track completely tank in Korea(now outside of the top 500) and even internationally it did very poorly. Her 2-3 year hype up collab with some massive stars also bombed very hard.

Jisoo's drama pulling in very very low ratings also.

I mean in September YG announced 950k sales for Lalisa and now in 2022 she still has less than 800k so I think the hype evidently went down, it can go back up sure, but for now it's down.

Users really come to anon and just talk trash. Either that or they are just stupid.
