Her singing in KB cover get more than 3m views which netizen liken her to the next iu/taeyeon. Everything about her going viral quickly, do you know her askfm fake rumor? It got more than 10k qrts in no time and trending multiple times in pann and instiz until the real owner comes out. Her everything short video cut going average 1m- 2 views each time. Random videos like her ankle goes 12m views. Her fansigning video goes 2m in no time. Her random tongue clicking clips has 3m each and the one streaming her videos are mostly koreans. Do you know Aespa topping millitary poll because of winter? She in top 5 in the comprehensive article ranking (average number of views) above her only 3 trot singers and bts jimin.


    Winter is really charming they said because she has the talent, the personality and the visual. It's crazy how she's this popular in short time without solo promo. She' the most popular in japan and korea and everything that has her face it sells out and hits million of views.

    Winter has a good combination of visual, personality, and talent. I think she will come out as the clear most popular Aespa member in Korea with their next comeback.


    Two major things hurt Karina:


    1. Her role in the group is dance rather than vocal. Karina is an above average sub vocal but a below average main dancer. As you say, Winter is popular partly because of her solo vocal performances, such as on KB. Karina has only had one solo vocal performance - her solo stages tend to be dance based instead. Winter's solo performances have led to her increased popularity while Karina's have led to her being dragged mercilessly on Twitter by Kpop stans.


    2. She's boring. Introverts rarely make it girls unless you have Irene's face

    Nowadays every new debutant is instantly the next IU, the next Taeyeon, the next G-Dragon.


    The greatest challenge in K-pop or any entertainment industry is consistent popularity over considerable time.


    Even the role models quoted IU, BTS or anyone, they are walking the edge with every comeback, which could easily be the start of their descent.


    So wouldn't it be sensible to wait till the 4th gen show some consistency of success, before already declaring them as Next-Anyone?

    When Knetz say shes the next IU, they mean in terms of singing shes really popular for Korean ears. It honestly sucks with the whole language barrier, People can't fully appreciate a singers tone/ability fully since they aren't Korean which is why I see a lot of Int fans sleeping on Winter vocals. This is regardless of whether Aespa continues their success or not Winter sound is really unique to Koreans.

Winter without good styling looks as if just another girl. Don't overrate her popularity. People know karina and wonyoung more than overhyped winter. Her fans have deluded themselves to think she is the most popular and it shows. No one other than sm stans know her. Karina and wonyoung are popilar amongst older people, male , female everyone. This overrated fad will know her place next comeback.

    Winter is pushed by SM tho , Winter is more like a taeywon originally , has a cute visual and great voice , the recipe that attracts a big Korean fandom like exo baekhyun , Izone chaewon, Bts jungkook . She’s not an it girl but because Karina visual is a bit too weird for some Koreans, winter ended up having more impact than Karina. If Karina was a standard beauty like Irene , yoona and Sulli , winter wouldn’t have overthrown her . But she has a snake beauty that is more hated than loved in Korea , the only reason she’s getting hype is because of the SM mediaplay for her looks like AI to cover up the fact , she really just looks like a snake . Winter will end up the it girl from Aespa because of that
