I love watching chinese dramas. But I watch more non fantasy & slice of life chinese dramas tho. But I have interested in THE UNTAMED since the review was so high & the drama was very popular. So I have really loved the story & casts. I have became huge fan of Xiao Zhan. The only problem I had with the drama was it's poor CGI effect. It's the reason why I also don't watch wuxia & fantasy chinese dramas. But big part of chinese dramas are wuxia & fantasy. I am planning to watch Duolou Continent since Xiao Zhan is lead role there. Haven't watched The Wolf cuz I don't want to suffer from 2nd lead syndrome. But CGI effects still feel uncomfortable for me. What do you think?

The Wolf cgi is terrible and only used on animals which are a lot. I loved Xiao Zhan and Yao Yao characters more than the main character and were the reason why I finished the drama.
Duolou Continent cgi is 100% to most cdramas and it’s so pleasing for the eyes. All thanks to Xiao Zhan too. After he got super famous on CQL people started investing on DC which was used for the cgi and I will always be thankful to him for that.

do they even care about cgi? i watched a cheap, debatable show everyone recommended on mydramalist (not gonna say which one, i'm embarrassed :D), i dropped it 5 episodes before the finale, i couldn't bear watching cringy cgi anymore. it looked terrible, power rangers' cgi is game of thrones level of cgi for this show.
I only watched meteor garden
I don't have patience to watch 50 episode
i only watch series with up to 24-28 episodes, if i had time for 50 episodes i'd rather finish peaky blinders and dark. congrats on finishing meteor garden, i dropped it after 5 minutes, i cannot watch dubbed series.

Hong Kong Wuxia in the 80s/90s with practical effects, acting, cinematography, fight choreography were so much better
