Why does The Boyz have more Korean fans than Stray Kids?

  • :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Some people acting as it is so unusual for The Boyz to even have fans.

    Also as usual, as if they're popular because some people see them as 'the visual group'. Making their fans look simple minded.

    All idols are very good looking, that's basically the requirement for the job, not only tbz. A lot of kpop fans are 'visual stans', no matter what group they're a fan of.

    Ehh if someone put Wonho, Gikwang and BM in the same group I would stan. Nothing wrong with keeping up with a group because you like how the members look.

    It is pop music, people don't like pop because of the complex music theory or aria's that show true vocal skill. Pop music is usually a short catchy tune/jingle that repeats with several variations and usually has a bridge between them. Most pop songs are also in 4/4 time, traditional western ballroom dance is in 4/4. It works well for dance music which is what pop largely is.

    It is popular because it is simple, catchy, gets people up and moving and has charismatic celebrity faces/personalities singing it.

    I think you missed my point, but I'll still respond.

    I didn't say visual aspect is not important in kpop, it is, that was my point, all idols have to somehow be conventionally good looking to even debut, so idk why a reason for tbz being successful would be because they're a visual group, aren't they all ''objectively''?

    And when I say visual aspect is important in kpop I don't mean pretty faces (this is a part of every entertainment industry, in the ''west'' also, we all know that the most popular singers in the west are mostly all conventionally good looking), but the performance aspect too.

    What makes kpop different is in the performance aspect, they put a lot of effort into that and making visually pleasing/appealing content, as are music videos.

    So yeah, I never said I like kpop because of complex music theory or that people should have some ''deep reasons'' to like it.

    I know what pop music is (don't worry, I also know a thing or two about classical music) and I also know that kpop is the whole entertainment package, not only music. What I was trying to say is that it's not ''only pretty faces'' either.
