It’s actually not that hard if you train it. You can train yourself to have better human knowledge.

Unless you are dealing with a psychopath/sociopath, you can learn how to detect red flags when it comes to toxic behaviors. But even here you can learn how to detect manipulative and gaslighting behavior with people who have personality disorders.

Doesn’t mean you will see it right away and not fall for them at first, but you will definitely be able to notice things much faster… I was once in a toxic friendship with someone to the point where I needed therapy, there I got to learn about these things.

It’s not really that possible on the internet, cause half of the things you would look at engaging with someone goes missing communicating only through text.

Note. Saying it’s not that hard doesn’t mean it’s easy… of course you still have to be on guard… and I’m not lying to myself, i was able to dodge toxic people much faster than before, so they didn’t had the chance to make my life miserable, there is a reason why manipulative people like to be around those a bit more naive or too empathetic.
