Kpop will never be as popular as it was in Korea during 1st gen.

The Kpop experience is something a lot of people just can't get in the artist back home so that's what's holding interest. In Korea you've really got to bring it and do something different for people to notice other wise you're simply a dime a dozen. Plus upbeat explosive music seems to no longer popular there which is what a lot of group do to appeal to International audiences.

Yep, probably has to do with the over saturation of idol groups and and increased global attention. K-pop groups no longer need to chart well, make ‘gp friendly’ music/dances or even have GP recognition to be sustainable. Although I think there’s always one or two top groups which match the recognition or previous groups before them.
