IU's voice is so sweet yet melancholic and controlled and it makes this ballad really good. Restraint in a thing I find missing in most ballads in general regardless of what country their from, so it makes Love Poem stand out for me. Also the male backing voice and electric guitar give this song a needed burst of power.
