It's grown bigger than Chappelle's transphobia (he said he supports TERFs and equates them to black people reacting to blackface). There's been a bunch of right wing Trump supporters and anti-vaxxers who have gone to his side and basically tried to shut down transfolk from speaking about being offended, and even transwomen were fired over it. Chappelle isn't saying anything about those right wingers saying they got his back, he probably is just enjoying it watching them fight for him, but at the expense of transpeople.

you put me on ignore and won't see this anyway. but supporting a singular person does not automatically make you have the same beliefs as them. i'm sure many support james charles but they're not all child predators. i'm sure many support trisha paytas but not all of them are racist.
