self loathing

true
although i'd say knowing why you hate yourself gives you more incentive to improve than just hating yourself and blaming it on others
-
Hmm if there is something you dislike about yourself that you like to improve on, I don't think that's a bad thing at all, but there are healthy ways to go about it. I don't think constantly focusing on what you hate and getting mad at yourself for being the way you are or making mistakes is healthy.
But if you recognize the progress you make with improvement and actively work towards improving, that can be healthy.
i.e focusing on the positives and such.

I agree, if others are blamed for the way you feel about your own self, that alone should be a source of self evaluation because it doesn't help and will only turn you into a bitter person

its either helpful or harmful
that said, its better to introspect and figure out how to set things right than to just "love yourself" and settle for a rock bottom version of yourself isnt it?

Yeah of course. I just think you need to do it in a healthy way. Everyone can improve on something and it's good to acknowledge that.

no i agree with that
good advise is needed
im just iffy about this current "self love" movement rn
its kind of having a negative effect on younger people
making them feel entitled to everything just cause they think they're worth it

Yeah I know what you mean. There are some people who do think the solution to problems is just saying "oh no you're perfect the way you are", and like... that's not a good thing. But I do think that can be solved with better education on mental health and accessible resources for it... those have been long neglected (at least in the U.S).
Ideally, we should be promoting healthy improvement over that kind of self-love as well.
