IM TIRED OF HOW OVER SEXUALISED WESTERN MEDIA IS

I feel like i'm the only one that is tired of how over-sexualised everything in western media is. Especially the pop songs, it feels like every song with a female singer nowadays has to consist of her shaking her ass, even when the song has absolutely no relation to that. Even blackpink for example, when they made an english song they had to make the most basic sexualised lyrics which is sad as the song didnt even chart well on billboard.

I get that some people say its ''female empowerment'' but I think it reaches a point where its an expectation for you to want to show your body (especially with how young girls are making onlyfans or dudes constantly asking girls what their onlyfans is). idk maybe im a prude.

Yes. I find it distasteful. I'd rather view a performance by talented singers like Adele or Sia for example. I don't want to see Doja Cat twerk.

Yeah it's getting annoying. But it's about what brings the most attention. No one cares about the music

It annoys me too that's why I don't listen to mainstream music, music videos are too explicit these days imo and are totally unncessary. It's only a shade above porn

Male stars are constantly singing or rapping about women as commodities and accessories. They're sexualizing and objectifying women too and it seems like many are okay with it. It's always this shocking content that seems to get the most appreciation, and most of the biggest stars are guilty of it.
