What's the best free language-learning app?

I happened to use several very useful and effective applications for learning the language. The first was duolingo, but after I realized that I didn't have enough theoretical knowledge about grammar, I decided to use preply right here. It seems to me that there are always alternatives if you look for them

I think this is really helpful especially when you have a pretty good understanding of the language you're both reading and listening to. You can connect words that way.

There are some K-drama words that obviously match up to some English words that I learned just by watching them.

I used Duolingo for the most part. I'd say the only problem with it is that it barely even teaches you anything, it's all about memory and sticking to it.
