The very first group that YG has actively perused fandom over public and physicals over charts just debuted 5 months ago... and they've already sold 1 million. I'd say that's a pretty scary prospect for going up against YG in the future.
Otherwise I wouldn't claim a victory over YG on physicals as they never focus on it. So it's a pretty empty victory because you're essentially claiming a victory over a rookie group and girl group who dominated their respective categories but newly debuted groups and girl groups aren't known for physicals.
Charts and digitals was always YG's strength and they rarely get beat. But they just shifted focus to physicals.
And YG is it's own distributor (YGPlus) and distributes for other labels. So they make more money on physicals than most labels who outsource distribution.
But as far as physicals, they only just started trying 5 months ago and they've already dominated and are #1 in rookie and girl group sales which is pretty remarkable.
Just shows when they try they usually win.
They sold a million because they had 4 releases in those 5 months. Their sales per release is about average for a mid tier BG.

Yes and 4 releases in a short period of time usually sees a decrease in sales given the amount of money being asked of fans. TREASURE did the opposite, they actually INCREASED sales with each new release.
They've sold around 250k for the first 3 single albums and 300k for the full, which only included 3 new songs.
And no, that's not mid-tier. LOL.
