my dog developed cancer about a year ago and we had to put her down so she wouldn't suffer. though it was a good descision considering she was in pain, i still cry about her loss to this day. the way she would always wake me up in the morning, or the way she would lick my cheek if i got food on it. she was my best pal and nobody really cared about me the way she did even though she's a dog..
to answer the question, i can't really deal with loss especially if that person or pet really cared about me. all of that love can never be felt anymore..

My cousin committed suicide 3 years ago. We were extremely close and around the same age. What I tried to do was stay away from people who were close to the person who deceased for a while. It brings back your memories with that person. That's what shouldn't happen when you are at a vulnerable state.
Make new friends and relationships. Maybe binge watch a new TV show or series. Hang out with others as long as possible. I'm not really great at advice but I hope this helps. Remember to stay happy and cherish every moment of your life. Your life is precious and you can only live this life once.
