Am I the only one who hates watching Kpop MVs these days?

  • Do you watch MVs or you skip them too because of AI? 17

The result is only visible to the participants.

The reason is obviously the AI.

I'm not gonna name groups or soloists, you can find a LOT of them already. Some even released a full-on AI-made MV.

Sadly, even some of my faves. Not that we can do anything about this, but this is the future, and I HATE IT WITH PASSION!

I'm afraid of the AI-made music, because it's already happening, and soon, real artists (not AI "artists) gonna make music with AI as well.

The music industry (mostly the mainstream) is slowly dying? I think so.

Usually, I do some research about how the MV was made before I watch it.

That video of a robot getting beaten is fake, but feeling sorry for machines is no joke | The Verge

  • which examples of ai can u give cause i haven't been watching any kpop music videos

I didn't want to mention anyone because I don't want another fandom war.

You have to defend me if the shit hits the fan. 🤣

Some examples I can remember and watched are BP - "JUMP", aespa - "Rich Man", every Allday Project MVs, Apink - "Love Me More", the new Young Posse MV. H2H's MV also, but not sure which one. ILLIT, and I think KiiiKiii as well.

    There are many more.

  • You are a bit late.

I've always hate watching kpop MVs since I started to get into it.

MV is like one of the weakest part of kpop. AI or not doen't matter.

I mean, yeah, most Kpop MVs are basic just like any other Pop MVs, but there are a LOT of movie quality MV as well with real stories and acting.

  • About BP:

The music video for BLACKPINK's "JUMP" primarily used traditional CGI and practical effects, but its visual style and certain post-production elements led to accusations and speculation among fans about the use of AI.

YG Entertainment and the MV's production team released behind-the-scenes footage to counter the AI rumors, confirming that the video was made with human effort and extensive physical production.

Key details from the production include:

Practical Filming: The MV was directed by renowned director Dave Meyers, and much of the footage involving the members was filmed on a real set in Seoul using large green screen (chroma key) setups.

Physical Stunts: Scenes where members appeared to be flying or jumping over urban landscapes involved the use of safety harnesses and wires (wirework), which is a traditional practical effect technique.

Human Choreography and Dancers: The choreography was created by Lia Kim, and scenes with large crowds included over 100 real dancers.

CGI for Backgrounds: The surreal, exaggerated urban landscapes and environments were created using extensive CGI and 3D modeling in post-production, not generative AI.

AI for Effects (Debated): While the core production was traditional, some sources suggest that certain visual effects or transitions might have incorporated minimal AI elements as a tool in the post-production process.

The debate largely stemmed from the highly stylized, sometimes uncanny, visual aesthetic of the final product, which some fans felt resembled the inconsistencies often seen in early generative AI work. However, the official production details emphasize human artistry and traditional techniques.

  • I didn't say the whole MV was AI, but they definitely used it, especially for the background.

The girls' digital version was also AI mixed with VFX as well, and yes, it was uncanny for a reason, but it's easy to tell what was made with AI. Especially because I'm forced to use AI, just like VFX artists, because it's faster and cheaper.

    BLACKPINK

Just like Young Posse's new MV.

Or Apink's. At least their company is crediting AI "artists". Many agencies don't do that yet for obv reasons.

  • A small part doesn't make the MV AI generated like the others you showed.

The fact that YGE and the production team had to release a statement tells how much k-pop fans don't know what they are talking about.

Again, I never said the whole MV was generated by AI. I hate everything made with AI even if it's just 1 scene.

I didn't see any real statement from YG, they only released some short bts clips, that's all.

Also, even if they say, "We didn't use AI." doesn't mean much, because Kpop fans can be fooled easily. If you show them 1 green or blue screen bts clip they will think the whole MV was made normally.

And it's not just BLINKS, btw. I've seen multiple fandoms arguing about the same thing because they think using VFX alongside AI means they didn't use AI at all.

This AI discussion is basically like who's the best vocalist, who sings live, etc. Everyone thinks their faves are the best.🤣

Sadly, this AI shit, just like most things in Kpop is used to hate on the Idols, even tho they don't have any say in this.

It's not YPS, Apink or BP's fault this is Elon's fault. :pepe-firing:

  • There's nothing to debate, it 100% used a very noticeable amount of AI.

  • K-pop isn't up to moral things so get used to it :meme-life-support:

  • David is someone who tries to understand things BP related even though he isn't a fan so I talk to him, but you? Nah, you are just saying whatever bc it's BP. :exit-pepe:

And you're deep in denial, to the point that you'd never admit the truth, even if I went through the video frame by frame to show you the LARGE amount of evidence that AI was used liberally.

  • In the future, we're just going to see a lot of MVs using AI. That's just the world we live in now. Do I want it? Nope, I mean even AI artists charts on billboard nowadays :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:

Bruh, every BP MVs are AI generated. Because they have the pinks who always look unreal :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:
