Singer Lim Young-woong has decided not to release a CD for his second regular album 'IM HERO 2'. On the 29th, the agency Fish Music announced through their official SNS, "After long discussions and deep consideration with Lim Young-woong, we have decided not to release a CD album," and added, "We will present a package in the form of an album book containing photo spreads, messages, and album credits for fans who wish to own the album."
Lim Young-woong's side cited three main reasons for this decision. First, the environment for actually enjoying CDs, such as CD players, is gradually disappearing. Second, the artist's sincere wish that the support and dedication of fans do not become a burden. Lim Young-woong expressed, "I hope fans do not feel excessive pressure in purchasing the album and support us with their hearts." Third, concerns about environmental protection also played a role in this decision. The intention to reduce unnecessary production and packaging of albums to positively impact the environment was also emphasized.
Unlike the first album, which recorded record-breaking initial sales, the second album has chosen value-centered communication over traditional sales competition or performance metrics. Fish Music added, "Even if the form changes, the genuine emotions contained in the music and messages will be conveyed more closely."
The Lim Young-woong album book will start pre-sales on the official MD mall 'I'm Hero Mall' from 2 PM on July 31. This album book will not be included in the album sales tally. The digital release of the regular second album 'IM HERO 2' and various comeback content will be gradually unveiled starting from August 29.
