f5ve apologizes for posting a distasteful picture on their Instagram story

  • The meme involves Goo Hara. Some fans are calling for their social media manager to be fired over this. The picture itself isn't violent or inappropriate, but I decided to put it in a spoiler just in case someone didn't want to see it.

  • Yikes!

The social media account is funny but I think they lean too much into always being online. This is not the first time they've made an error with kpop. I think the admin just picks random things that are trending and tries to make a meme out of it. I think they need to be careful if they're trying to grow the group because it can make people not want to follow them

  • I personally got the ick from the social media account because I knew it wasn't actually the girls posting most of the time (if at all). It's kinda obvious, I think, that it's most of it is done by the same person! But yeah, I do think it's leaning too far into always being online - most people only know about the account but don't really bother to check on the music because it's more of a meme than actual promotion.

It was fine to get some eyes on the group, but I think they should move away from it when they release their album. I think there's way too many slip ups from the admin. I find some of their TikTok entertaining but you don't want to be a group known more for their memes than music. I like their music a lot but they need to find a balance because this is going to hurt the group.

I am unsure how popular they are in Japan, but it seems a lot of their international fans are more into kpop than jpop. I don't think they want to anger kpop fans because that's a good portion of their fanbase.

I think it was an honest mistake from the social media manager. I think their management just needs to shift away from that type of content. They can still have fun of course but there's no need to post certain content that you think will get people talking.

  • Did the group members themselves have to issue an apology? Also, I quit kpop 6 years ago specifically because Sulli and Goo Hara's deaths were the last straw for me after who knows how many years of relentless horror stories.

Also, who in their right mind would think a picture of a suicide victim next to a coffin was amusing? That's even ignoring what drove her to suicide in the first place.

100% the memes need a balance. The girls are all former members of the groups happiness and E-Girls which are multi platinum selling groups in Japan and other Asian countries. Rui is still a member of the group iScream as well. They are very well known for work prior to f5ve.

I love their music and as we all already know I am a huge lover of Kara and especially Hara. I feel this should have been a situation where their social media manager needs to be more aware of the world around them, and that the OP of the "meme" needs to have their account taken down as they are the ones who caused the mess.

This is a lot different to the boygroups and other girlgroups and solo-artists of their label. I follow a lot people (also some from sublabels) and depending on it you get a lot news and some comments by the members most often (LDH has quit a lot social media accounts like damn, if you for example look up how many accounts under the term of EXILE TRIBE or EXILE exist managed by LDH its wild. Also many member in groups do run their own social media accounts by now so you can clearly see a difference, altho the difference between older and newer acts is kinda weird cause on TikTok for example EXILE would be the only one of EXILE TRIBE with no account and than GENERATIONS and Sandaime J Soul Brothers only use their own music to promote on TikTok while the other groups are more jumping towards whats trending with other artists on TikTok + some member even run their personal TikTok accounts)

I wonder how in the world they manage to make a row of these "scandalous" posts for f5ve and manage to freak them over as the only one or better said the difference between for example Girls2 and f5ve's social media apearance is crazy
