The Chase vs. I Do Me

    I like both songs but i think i like the chase more


    first listen i think i liked "I do me" more cuz the song is a safe song and pretty easy to the ears


    but after few more listening i enjoy "the chase" more the twist in the song doesn't sound as surprising than it felt the 1st time


    The production is more "rich" and interesting with in the chase

    I really like the fact that they added adlibs and harmony through the entire song in the background of the vocals to add more to this eerie and mysterious vibe of the song

    they compliment each other really well


    both the instru and the vocals have a purpose in the song, it's like "re-discovering" the song everytime i listen to it, everytime i go back to the song i heard a new ad-lib going on in the background of the vocal.

    The Chase for me. It has some recalls to previous SM girl groups and SM gg song to me like Red Velvet b-sides that I really liked (probably no surprise, some of the people that were involved with previous SM girl group comebacks/debuts were probably also involved with H2H's).


    Elements that jumped out that appeal to me are the dreamy chill vibe, clean and pleasant layered vocals and harmonizations, the talk-singing combined with the interesting background instrumentals and beat, and the r&b-ish adlibs.

    It's simply a style of music that I really like and enjoy, rhythmic and catchy beat yet also laid back and chill listening, a combination that I've also enjoyed in songs like NewJeans' Ditto.
