Is BTS gaining new fans?

  • I only ask because theyve been gone for a while now and in the midst of this (some) armies have cause a lot of ruckus in the kpop space, and there have been some scandals as well. People keep on saying “HYBE falls if BTS leaves” and i think thats true as a quick way for them to fall.

However, how much longer can hybe be SUSTAINED by BTS/Army? Thats a pretty tall order with how big HYBE has grown and the boys have gotten a bit older (and less appealing to younger/newer kpop fans) AND kpop has less of a reach abroad. This mixed with HYBE being riddled with legal disputes right now and a full two branches of their music division falling apart… can BTS sustain all of that?

  • I don't know about gaining fans but they reached new audience through their solo music.

The members released music that are different from each other. From alternative, hiphop, grunge, pop and more. People who aren't likely to listen BTS might give the solo music a try and afterwards might give the group a listen as well.

  • idk you tell me

if y'all would just get out of your little kpop bubble you'd realise BTS are still far and away the most popular group and their popularity has not stagnated while in the military. Hit hate tweets on twitter actually don't mean anything irl unlike what most kpop fans seem to think.

  • If you watch KR/JP K-pop relays you'll notice basically no one under 20 knows any BTS dances/songs. They're not gaining many new fans in KR/JP. What BTS does well is have insane reach in many markets (esp. SEA + LATAM), but they don't dominate KR/JP/US that much, and the younger gen prefers Stray Kids.
