I would say it's common that after a couple of years at the top Idols start to "relaxe" a bit and also gets more freedom from their companies. People that are rich enough and are happy with what they have accomplished can be less afraid of failure. If they have some scandal that maybe ruins their career, so what? As long as they don't end up in a prision or something that really make them look bad. So that means thay can take higher risk and do stuff that could end up hurting their relations with fans. It can be oridnary stuff like dating or it can be drinking a bit too much in public.
It makes sense some BTS members got tired of that lifestyle

Maybe maintaining a lifestyle and an image can be tiring but celebrities are just put at a high pedestal that it comes a surprise when they do something unexpected, outrageous or stupid.

Well duh, captain obvious

With this incident, no more drinking on shows and livestream for them.
Which is good. Hope they all learn something from this and control their alcohol habits. Not on screen but off screen. Just because they don't show us doesn't mean they aren't doing it. It's interesting that they hide from fans that they are smoking but drinking and being tipsy on screen is perfectly fine. It's not cute.

They don't hide they're smoking when they're in US tho which is interesting.
This is definitely a lesson for them.

Criticizing Yoongi for operating his scooter while drunk is valid. This sad excuse of a thread is not; all members of BTS are still in this lifestyle and probably will be well into their 30s. In the grand scheme of their careers, this scandal is towards the top of their controversies. Some of them weren't actually their fault, but regardless of his intent, Yoongi brought this upon himself, the group and his company. I never looked to BTS as perfect, but this is sobering (pun not intended) to know about. At least it wasn't a bigger vehicle.

Once someone become famous, successful and rich, he doesn't need to maintain the perfect idol image.
Except if you’re an K-pop idol
They still have to pretend that they are in a relationship with their fans.

Not when you are older. Fans also grow up with idols, when fans are in their 30s they are well aware that idols have a private life. Girlfriend fantasy only works with younger groups and fans.
