Has there ever been an incident where a kpop artist was being like this?

  • I have heard that some celebrities often demand stuff.

Like if they are touring in a different country, they would demand their hotel room to be in a certain way.

I have heard that Prince always demanded his hotel room to be purple. (not sure if that is true or not)

When kpop artists tour in other countries, they don't seem to demand their hotel rooms to be different or stuff.

Or judging from ATEEZ's live videos, where they are filming in hotel rooms, there doesn't seem to be any changes about the room.

But I have noticed that they often bring Korean food with them. (talking about instant ramyun and stuff) But maybe they bring it with them to feel less homesick or something.

But I think that kpop idols still get spoiled.

Or it seems like they get a lot of the stuff that they want.

Like if a kpop artist really likes LEGOs, he would probably get some LEGO stuff gifted for free by LEGO Korea.

And they get invited to fashion shows and stuff and get to meet other celebrities.

Like most celebrities, they pretty seem to have a luxury life.

And no wonder why some people would want to become famous celebrities.

I have thought that if I became a celebrity, I maybe wouldn't be that spoiled.

But then I thought about whether fame and money would end up messing with my brain.

I feel like there is a good reason why parents are told not to spoil their children.

And they would probably tell their children about how some people live in poverty and can't barely afford necessary stuff like food and clothes.

I feel like I'm sometimes spoiled because of me being the youngest child.

Even though I feel like my parents maybe didn't spoil me that much. I know that there were times when my parents weren't giving me all the stuff I wanted.

Like I didn't get those roller shoes or the shoes that had lights in the bottom that I thought looked so cool. (but I don't know if I even asked my parents for those shoes... And nowadays I kinda wish they had those shoes in adult sizes.)

    Okay, I ended up rambling.

TL;DR do you think any kpop artist would tour in a different country and demand that their hotel room in is a certain way? Like maybe demand that everything is blue because that is their favourite colour?

I could see K-pop artists requesting that their hotel rooms be stocked with Korean snacks, or something along those lines, but nothing as extreme as "everything must be blue".

  • I think some of these stories are vastly exaggerated but sometimes those demands were for a reason. Van Halen would demand a bowl of m&m's with all the brown ones removed because it'd let them know if the promoter hadn't read the contract rider and they'd know to do a full check of the entire stage set up for safety.

Some of this stuff was likely also to add to their image. Mariah is Mariah and had a diva image. Prince had the weird but brilliant artist image. Both of which mean you'd expect them to have weird demands so I'd image at some level they'd play into that for media play or at the very least their team would want to play into it.

Idols are meant to be hard working but humble, so even if they have demands it'd be covered up by the companies. I remember Somi mentioning once she started to get a bad reputation in the industry for being a diva yet not one word of it leaked before she mentioned it. Thats the way the Korean entertainment industry culture works, people never say anything until its something huge then all of a sudden everyone piles on. Look at James Corden, when he got big in the US (and I think even before then) there were endless rumors of how horrible he is and how fame went to his head.
