I have my thoughts about the industry and those incidents involving self-harm. The industry has been around for decades and there were three incidents involving suicide. Yes, it's bad and it shouldn't happen at all, but people tend to exaggerate as if this happens exclusively in the K-pop industry. It happens all throughout the world; the difference is that you don't know or care when some office workers commit suicide because they're not famous.

The fact that people pretend to care only as a way to criticize K-pop and be subtly racist irks my soul.

That's how it goes. Lots of these hateful people keep bringing up idol suicides as if it happens exclusively in the K-pop industry. Yes, it happened and it's bad that it happened at all, but it also happens in all other industries. We just don't hear about it because they're not famous and idols are. Three suicides in recent years is absolutely nothing compared to how harsh it is in other industries, and it's unfair to blame the industry itself for it when there might be personal problems we don't know about.

Mental illness is a huge problem. We can't just blame the industry without taking a look at the mental health side of things.
