I already said that NewJeans would easily break the girl group sales record if they didn't have two back-to-back comebacks in just a month

  • There might be some sales gain but not double though.

Kpop fans buy a million versions at a time and that’s where the bulk of the sales comes from.

I never said anything about doubling sales figures, but two albums dropping in consecutive months lowers the ceiling of each album's potential sales. This isn't conjecture. I'm in the fandom. A lot of Bunnies had to decide which album to spend money on, especially if they want the sales to count towards music shows.

How many teens can just throw a hundred bucks or more down in consecutive months?

You being in the fandom and having anecdotal proof means nothing lol.

    They shouldn't tbh.

How the fk do kids have so much money to buy albums.

When I was a kid being able to eat at Macdonalds is a blessing. But kids nowadays drink Starbucks everyday like how is everyone complaining about inflation and how they have no money to buy shit but be spending coin on overpriced sugar water

It's more relevant than anything you've contributed so far, which has quite literally been nothing. Having a feel for the pulse of the main demographic that mass consumes physical albums, the fandom, isn't trivial.

If I see Bunnies on literally every platform bemoaning the fact that the albums are spaced so close together, and their having to choose which one to spend their money on, then there's probably something to it.

Reign in your rampant contrarianism just this once, especially when it began with you going after a strawman.

  • They shouldn't tbh.

Ever been to KCON? There are levels to this, and buying albums is pretty low on my "irresponsible discretionary spending" barometer, compared to some of the crazy shit I've seen kids throw money at for KCON.

    Kids nowadays are so lucky

It’s really not. There’s no way to say what could have been the actual sales gain. It could have been like 5% or 10% or like OP hypothesis double.

It’s a useless talking point because it didn’t happen. The best course of action would be to shut up and wait when their properly promoted releases happen.

They're spoiled or born with the golden spoon is more like it. Way to make me sound like a boomer, but damnit it's true. I've seen kids willing to spend literal hundreds to buy someone's Hi Touch event for an artist they wanted to meet at KCON (it's random draw when you buy your tickets at a high enough price tier).

I have stories for days. Especially in 2016 when BTS was there.
