I was too young. Did they have a fandom or were it just the public?

Fifth Harmony was a prime example of this. I liked Little Mix and anytime I shared their music on social media there were at least 10 people in my comments yelling that FH was better. It was all women/girls and they were much more hostile than us GG stans of Asian pop.
Really? It didn’t reach us here in the Middle East unlike 1D

Omg this is horrible!!
This happens a lot in the US with men obsessed with female singers. Like A LOOOOOTT and it is quite gross. Some of them are worse than Saesangs

Fifth Harmony and Little Mix both had a decent fandom I think. I'd say Little Mix was almost more supported by their fans than by the GP.
What is comparable to them in kpop ( fandom size)?

Huuum, I don't know enough about numbers to know about it, lol. Here is what I know.
Little Mix were signed under the same label as Fifth Harmony, and Simon Cowell decided to keep FH for the US, and LM for the UK, so Little Mix was never really promoted there. They were pretty much the national girl group in the UK, and with one of the member of LM and one member of One Direction being engaged at some point, they were pretty much a package. 1D was more popular, but LM was their 'female' counterpart.
Despite their lack of promotion in the US, they did gather a loud fandom in the US too. They were a lot more 'girly' than FH, who were more marketed as 'sexy'. People praised their creativity, and the fact that the girls seem to actually get along and love each others ( unlike in FH ).
Anyway, the group is on the verge of disbandment now ( one member left the group for mental health reason, but also seems to want to focus on her solo career ). The group keeps going with three members, and they still have a good fandom, but I think their glory days are behind them.

The spice girls were MASSIVE globally. They had huge predominantly female support and still do. If they wanted to have a comeback tomorrow it's hysteria.
Also Destiny's Child had HUGE female support so it's not impossible.
Nationally Little Mix has huge female support also. So it's not impossible, there just really isnt any GG's around now at all apart from gg's within fandom driven system like kpop where support and fandom is part of the gig.
