What caused the massive jump in K-pop album sales from 2020 onwards?

The main factors would be the number of versions, price, and overseas exposure that was helped by all the big 4 companies have allies in the West to better push the groups.
Of course, for all the mocking that kpop fans do with Western validation argument, that is something that a lot of Asian countries do valorize, which does help with album sales.

1) China. Accounts to as far as 60% of sales of some groups. It's a huge country, almost as big as Europe and America put together and a market where kpop is very close to be mainstream
2) USA and Europe distribution, so albums no longer costs an arm and leg to buy for iFans
3) Cheaper albums tuned with many versions

I'm still confused when people say "albums", do they mean phycical albums only (as I do) or do the included digitals ones?
I'm guessing most people will mean physical albums? Like Gaon album chart is I presume purely physical albums?
