Don’t say I didn’t warn them. I made many topics on how Itzy’s potential will be squandered due to how JYP is packaging them, but their fans wanted to pretend everything was fine. Now they see these other 4 gen groups making leaps and bounds in both success and concept planning so suddenly they changed their tune and are protesting JYP. But it’s too late. The members are looking forward to enjoying the fruits of their labor, not go back to the drawing board.

Let's be honest, ITZY would be huge if they got the LESSERAFIM treatment, Twice the IVE treatment and NMIXX the NewJeans treatment
I don't mean copying them to the letter, but taking some notes in terms of production, music direction and general concept design, while still keeping the groups' "colors". Imagine if Twice came back with someone like Love Dive, or ITZY with ANTIFRAGILE.

The problem with ITZY is that they don't really fit their concept
Talent-wise the girls do a good job, no complains (although some people were critical of Lia for a main vocal)
But the main issue people have is that their concept gets boring. I think they changed things enough but the issue I see is that they only embody the "in-your-face empowerment" concept superficially
- Yeji
- Chaeryeong
- Lia
these members are a lot more introverted to fully suit the concept
- Yuna
- Ryujin
they are more fierce and probably suit a stronger concept than their current one which…

What does Itzy need to take them to the next level?
After their very impressive debut, it seems like Itzy still has untapped potential JYP doesn’t know how to work on.
They tried the American advancement before corona and it didn’t go nowhere. They tried changing up their concept slightly since Not Shy and up to Loco but it’s not getting them to their Dalla Dalla glory days.
The “empowerment” and “bad ass” is too cliche now. I asked other people what if Itzy did something like miss A and they were like nope.
I feel like JYP is playing too safe with…

Does it feel like ITZY is fading away?
Ryujin and Yuna still get praise here and there, and even Chaeryeong got some better opinions about her. But as a whole, ITZY feels less and less relevant. Like a Big company version of Weeekly. Who could imagine in 2018 that GIDLE would achieve greater levels of success than ITZY. Even thought ITZY does have a large fandom, a lot of them are probably multistans who stan others more than ITZY (like Stray Kidz).

So ITZY is really doing the ethnic Italian-American mafia concept
The setting actually looks like 1960s Brooklyn street from where the Italian-American mafia conducted their business and the cop dancers obviously related it to criminal activity, which is what mafia did. So it doesn't seem to relate at all to the "fun" mafia game they play in Korean varieties. I know some Italian-Americans were upset about the use of their culture as aesthetics for kpop. And the featuring of cops on the MV might not go well with the woke crowd.
