AI music generator and the future of kpop music

    Often times, we see debates and discussions regarding kpop music and songs. Whether it was brought up by someone who knows music or just some stans and antis of a group.


    Sampling in a kpop song had been exist since years ago. But then, this recent advancement in music generator by AI, can make a simple sample into any kind of styling, with a simple command.

    What will this tech bring to kpop music industry?


    - will this make a company's productivity amped up?

    because making a song will be much faster? (A small bit of samples can generate a whole song)


    - or will this kill the industry?

    It could kill the creativity, since you can make a song by using a hand of samples. Also making them less reliant on buying songs

    AI art is a huge trend rn yet artists are doing juuuuust fine, both freelancers and company artists


    the world gives a lot less shits about AI than the internet would have us believe

    I would guess AI created "songs" can be used to create a lot of basic templates that song producers/writers can use to as a starting point to adjust and improve to final songs. Let the AI created 1000 songs, listen to the it, delete the 990 that is crap, select the 10 that is "something" and finaly use 1 of thoses to make a song.

    Yeah, I think there is already a Korean tech company that are building this app. And yeah, they could offer it to companies that are known for having self-composing idols

    AI isnt sentient (yet). You still need to plan/tweak/command to make a song. Its not like its pulling shiz out of thin air. So I think it will be a tool for producers rather than a replacement. Whoever utilises it better will have less workload and more ideas/freedom to work with. Also the value for traditional producers can increase/decrease depending on how well each party performs.


    That said, I hope they put very strict regulations against blatant stealing that AI has done so far, no credit to artists and still capitalising on their work.
