Leaders in K-POP let's talk and vote, you can vote for two options!

Which type of leader do you prefer?

    1. One indisputable leader - the ruler, leader picked by members through voting or by agency CEO before groups debut. The leader which keeps position forever - example: Jihyo, RM, Bang Chan

    2. One change of leader when it's needed - example: Everglow E:U was a leader but after some time they've changed leader to Sihyeon, similar situations also happened in groups like Winner and CLC.

    3. Daily life mastermind leader + field/workout captain - things like this kind of happen naturally in bigger groups like fromis_9, IZ*ONE or LOONA, altough only fromis has official captain and in that case it's used instead of leader term. There will be someone who is great at talking things through making sure to talk about all members concerns and problems, and there will be another person which leads practices, and keeps group going and motivated when they are learning new choreo or preparing for comeback or festival/end year show performance.

    4. Rotational system - all members of group "share" the burden of being a leader one by one - example: T-ARA, first leader was Jiae, then Eunjung, then Boram, then Hyomin, then Soyeon, and finally Qri.

  • indisputable leader is a solid move to showcase leadership, and majority of kpop groups appoint 1 leader to keep things smooth. of course everyone will have the chance to provide ideas, but leader is responsible in ensuring that their voices are heard and all satisfaction is fulfilled. no leader seems like a healthy thing, but at one point someone gotta make a move to keep things smooth.

i dont think rotational leader is relevant in groups with large age gaps. not everyone is caliber enough to lead, and even though not many groups have this system, i do believe that it can be messy at times

seventeen is the perfect example for number 3. they have solid subunits to keep things in check, plus 1 ultimate leader to finalise everything. i really like seventeen's system and i think they have the best chemistry among the members.
