Fans say filler members are untalented and don't deserve their spot in the group, but "filler member" is only a title for a short time as they can improve their skills later on. Members are only "fillers" for a short amount of time until they find what works for them here is the real definitions of a filler member:
Filler member =
1st definition (most known): A member that does not excel in singing, dancing, or rapping, but variety shows or acting. Usually either the token English speaker of the group or the funny member that brings in western fans.
2nd definition: All the other trainees left right in time for the debut, so the company had to choose someone that wasn't ready to debut. Usually a sub-rapper or sub-vocalists. As time goes on they easily catch up with their other members. Practice makes perfect.
Filler members do not equal:
untalented, they just excel in something else. Usually find their own path in the end. Filler does not equal bad.
(I'm sure you can think of 1 or 2 members in a bigger group that fits one of the two definitions.)
