popular groups can get away with any crimes and still remain popular and bigbang's song getting pak in 2022 is proof of this

Cancelling for the most part happens only if the involved party cancels themselves (stop performing/releasing) or if they heavily reliant on a fandom who decides to stop supporting them for whatever reason.
The public in general does not care (unless it says proven rape/murder with actual convictions)
And of course a comeback from a group with most hits in korea, after all those scandalous year and their hiatus, is a good recipe for generating interest for their first comeback after 6(?) years.

Sure, but this doesn't apply to kpop only. Look at a former president that could get away with the most insane stuff that other people would get demonized and outcast for hard and permanent, or some mighty people that got exposed and suffered in the Metoo era, but are now recovering to their former elevated position again.
But let's be honest, 99% of all k-pop related 'controversies' are trivial or minor stuff or not worth canceling the persons for that people want to cancel (however, if someone personally wants to cancel an idol or group, then that's of course their own personal choice - as long as they don't expect everyone else to behave the same and act and do the exact same too).
