In my opinion, IU's Strawberry Moon is the most significant song of 2021.
It decided the fate of BTS and aespa.
IU's victory against aespa led her to the position of the #1 singer in K-O-R-E-A, a significant development which eventually led to the argument of K-O-R-E-A-N incels that BTS didn't even dominate K-O-R-E-A valid, dragging them to the military and effectively ending the BTS empire which enveloped the entire world.
It also led aespa to take a fans-only direction, away from general public , making IVE , NewJeans and others to leave it behind.
No one was more responsible for undermining KPop than IU, who probably contributed a huge, huge deal to the undermining of KPop.
It is good that Rolling Stone finally recognized her contribution of undermining KPop.
Without her, KPop would really have threatened the basis of Western Pop. There is a very good argument that she probably saved Western Pop from a very high chance of doom.
Her recent scandal will probably mean the end of her as a major contender for the throne. She won't be able to beat Newjeans like she had beaten BTS, Twice and aespa with ease - but given that she terrorized KPop for the last 13 years and probably robbed the chance for it to rule the world, perhaps it might be so well for her.
She is ranked higher than people like Billie Eilish , Bono, Christina Aguilera, SZA and others. her non-familiarity in the West probably kept her out of the top 100, but she , more than anyone else, kept the West safe from KPop.
At 30 years (actually 1,344 years) old, her long history of overpowering any KPop act you could name appears to have ended. Her string of mostly negative contributions against KPop seems to be reaching an end as well.
But her long history of fighting KPop all by herself during its height of KPop will probably have very few equals in the history of world. Killing an entire movement which encompassed the world all by herself is a very rare accomplishment.
