What went wrong with Chaeyeon?

She's friends with Soyeon. Should have tried to join (G)I-DLE, actually. They needed a main dancer (at the time). I saw the idea once on Twitter I think.

tbh i think she's one of those idols that a lot of people liked to hype up for her talent bc she was unpopular, but like you said, nonfans. those people don't actually support those idols in any meaningful way, it just makes them feel good to say they do.

imo she shouldn't have gone on swf bc it tarnished her image as a dancer. and she just isn't especially charismatic as a soloist. they could have placed her in a group where her dancing could really shine, i'm not sure why they thought sending her out by herself was a good idea

although maybe post ioi companies were more cautious about their choices after seeing how most of those groups failed

Because people only care about her dance, and she's not doing enough of it in her solo work?

She needs a better choreographer as well. I don't remember any of her dance in her single.

For a soloist, her biggest problem is her flat expressions during performances and promos. She lacks the charisma that a soloist needs.

I didn't know she even had an album, maybe that's part of the problem. She was my non-fan favorite along with Sakura.
