You're taking the approach I do! Small steps. It doesn't feel like a lot at one time, so it's more manageable in the moment. But all those incremental changes really add up and you can really feel the difference after a while.
I spent the past two years decluttering us "kids" rooms since we're all adults now and my siblings aren't moving back any time soon. Watching a lot of YT channels about decluttering really helped keep the motivation going. Your thread might motivate others (and me) too!
It feels so freeing that I'm trying to stop myself from going further with my clothes lol. I spend 24/7 in PJs, but I do need public facing clothes sometimes ![]()

I donated my clothes and am trying to be more thoughtful about what I buy going forward. But you could start with the older clothes or anything that's worn down/has holes/discolored.
I was afraid of wasting money (especially since most of it wasn't my money), but in the end, the stress of seeing all of it every day beat the stress of wasting money. Not having the visual reminder actually lowered my stress about the money.
