What do you think happened with ITZY?

They constantly were debuting high on Spotify and were the leading GROUP not just GGs on streaming... wth happened here?

Even their flop songs in S.K (Not Shy, Mafia, CIL) did so well internationally ,

S.K has never been their strong suit but global Spotify was something.

Its not like their song quality downgraded, or their concept change they still do teen crush

this affects longevity but first impact should have more listeners. MAFIA was considered a major flop according to kpop fans and it did well in the beginning

And JYP said this is his favourite song….. It’s so-so imo, it’s not catchy enough and what’s up with Yuna’s voice? Don’t like how JYP is instructing her to sing in a child-like voice and the high pitched chorus is really grating so not much replay value. The choreo is also not memorable….

Jyp songs are hit or miss, sm's too but they're innovative with their marketing so it works. Jyp doesn't know what to do with their groups anymore. Itzy atleast looks like a big3 group, look at nmixx.

it isn't helping them that their music has gone to sh*t

most people agree that Cheshire is one of the better itzy songs, but sadly the damage is already done.

• casual listeners abandoned them for New Shiny Thing
• music doesn't have the same punch/shock factor as in their early years, people have grown accustomed to it
• since itzy are a group centered on good performances, the members were chosen accordingly; since dance, stage presence were prioritized , vocal ability and vocal color came second; this doesn't make itzy a bad group because they're still talented but they only excel at a handful of concepts for this reason, limiting them to more or less the same thing if the producers are just average and don't know how to innovate
