  • Ep 5 - Pickman’s Model

Creepy atmosphere = hmmm by far the least creepy episode for me

Interesting characters & dynamics = tiny check

    Supernatural paranormal = check

Solid storytelling = tiny check - the casting for this one is also interesting - Ben Barnes and Crispin Glover (haven’t seen him in ages)

Scream/Jump factor = none - I did ewwww at several scenes

Episode score = 6/10 - this one was the weakest one and I like Ben! He was fine but the writing for the story and pacing was off

  • Ep 6 - Dreams in the Witch House — Rupert aka Ron Weasley from HP series stars in this episode

Creepy atmosphere = check from the start but it has a more family film feel to it

Interesting characters & dynamics = aww a sibling story - check

    Supernatural paranormal = check

Solid storytelling = much better writing and story than the last one. I also like the themes of grief and anger too.

Scream/Jump factor = I yelled at the TV during a scene and the church scenes were fun, great acting by Rupert.

Episode score = 9/10 - Rupert did very well and this was fun episode.

I also have to give a shout out to the fantastic creepy character designs in all the episodes - truly fantastic. Ep 1 and 3 were stuff of nightmares re creatures.

  • del Toro directed Pan's Labyrinth and The Shape of Water, (some of my fav movies) so I have to see these episodes!

The guy said, "F%*# me blue!!!"...random and funny!

  • I'm a big fan of Guillermo Del Toro and was very excited about the series..i honestly liked the stories a lot but something in me felt really disatisfied..maybe how short they were? that i kept wishing they'd be expanded on? Not sure ;( To be fair i haven't watched the whole thing yet, just the first 3 episodes. Episode 3 was definitely my favorite one, the atmosphere, dialogues, top notch stuff.

  • I'm actually rewatching this because I spaced out the first time, but the end is very powerful. I think an hour is just too long for the pacing of it. It'd be tighter if they cut out a lot of the middle part.
