I think she's a good rapper when she doesn't use her nasally rap tone thing. In the first rap in nxde she had this really nasally tone when she was rapping and I didn't like it, but in the second rap in nxde she was using a much deeper non-nasally voice and it was really good.
For me, there are better female rappers than her/rappers that I like more in kpop but she's not a bad rapper, infact she's good, I just don't like the nasally tone she uses.
I don't like using the words overhyped/overrated because everyone in the kpop industry worked hard to be where they are now, and that shouldn't be put down.
I haven't really seen any hate for her except the tomboy rap. So in my opinon, she isn't overhated or overhyped.

Another factor is her voice. Also her fans hype her like she’s the second coming of a rapping christ when she’s alright at best and some of her raps really grate on the ear and not just because of her unattractive voice.

she is both actually

As a non-fan I think it's neither. Up until Tomboy came out, she was widely regarded as the best among female idol rappers. The only ones who hated her until then were G-idle fans who couldn't stop fighting among themselves about line distribution. The "hate" she gets now is just genuine criticism about her rapping and lyricism. Of course, like most kpop fans when it comes to their faves, they can't bare to accept anything negative toward their faves and like emotional toddlers they start screaming and crying and claiming everyone is an anti even thought almost everyone before Tomboy and Nxde really valued her skills.

She's overhated. Although, the criticism of her English lyrics and pronunciation is deserving.

But her skills are the same as before. That's what makes the newfound criticism a little disingenuous, at least partly.
There are some people who always disliked her. They were already complaining about her nasal tone way before TOMBOY. But now that some newcomers joined the fray, complaining about her recent raps because supposedly they couldn't make sense of the lyrics (they didn't try too hard obviously), these critics are now more vocal than ever. Especially since the group reached new peaks in popularity and exposure.
But the fact is she's still the best and her lyrics are still on point.

She's not over-hated. Her stans are invested in her superiority in KPop and take it very personally when there is any criticism because that is not what they signed up for.
Idle's comebacks this year have been huge, but just about everyone but Soyeon biases agree that some of her parts are the weakest. Tomboy's second rap was awful. Fine that Korean fans loved it, I probably love stuff that sounds bad to Koreans. Fine if she wrote it for them. It doesn't change the fact that I understand English and it was so weak. Badly written, badly executed.
In Nxde I have trained myself that the song starts at 37 seconds because it's an obnoxious mess before that. Her second rap is really good, but it would have been such an improvement if one of the singers did the first part.
And both songs are huge, so she will feel encouraged to keep going with her "Hyuna as an angry goose" impression...

I mean it's fine if she's not everyone's cup of tea, many other kpop idols aren't mine, but to think she's not an incredible rapper because of one rap in Tomboy is just crazy talk.
Raps are made to fit the songs, not to show off your rapping prowess. Some of the b-side raps on the latest mini album are just mind blowing phenomenal and fit the song.
So over hated - but also I think a bit of a misunderstanding as people don't' clearly delineate between her talent and prowess vs their personal taste, ie her nasal tone.
She's also basically the only real producer-idol in the female ranks right now (LE is one but Exid are very uneven with activity), and leads all their concepts, ideas, creative direction. It's incredibly impressive, even if Idle aren't your thing (which is perfectly fine).

She is average is best, and she has been caught stealing other rappers lyrics afew times so she also lacks originality

Lol you just hate her voice, and it is not correlated with her rap skill

She is overexposed, and it is by herself. We know she did everything by herself but giving her all the lines when she is not even a good singer is aint it. She can take all the rap part as she is the only good rapper in the group, but please let miyeon, minnie or yuqi sing miss girl. Your voice is so grating and it ruin the song

Don't bother then and go listen to something else.

People forget that she is the main lyricist, producer and composer behind (G)-Idle songs, I am not surprised to see the Kpop community hated on a talented woman in spite of her creative skills.
