Is itzy regressing in terms of music?

    What’s up with sneakers and now boys like you? I sometimes side eye jyp‘s music decisions with their girl groups. He said the song after sneakers is his favorite track. Really? Boys like you?


    The song is outdated and basically a walmart tay swift song. The MV looks cheap too imo. Love the idea that they wanted to make some kind of a storyline with the MV but it was all over the place and rather empty box sets. Expected more. JYP, you can do better!!

    their new eng song had 300k spotify streams on the first day.....

    i think jype will keep up this cringe-pop sound maybe they have many young fans

    They have been regressing since mitm. Loco, sneaker, boys like you all three are underwhelming releases. No one other than itzy fans like these songs.

    did life’s too short, an english single, do well at all on spotify? aespa may have had their break through in korea but internationally their charting is very mediocre compared to the monster rookie ive, lsf, nj trio who do well in both markets. gidle also can’t really compete with those 3 on international charts. don’t think aespa and gidle have earned a spot on this table yet.

    as bg stan, itzy was one of the only ggs i used to excited for their music and performances, but it went downhill since not shy, now wtf is this kidz bop sneakers and boys like you, all the other ggs putting better music, aespa, ive, newjeans, stayc, lsfm, jyp need to do better

    All of their songs are loud and messy or slow and dull. Always basic. Including Dalla Dalla. For me Loco is the answer to "which Itzy song could you play in public without wanting to die?"

    But they are never going to give us actually good songs (don't come at me with Wannabe, Ryujin's rap was horrible. "ERRBODY-ERRBODY!" Then "teaching me?" like she was quietly sounding out how to say it) we must make our peace with the fact that Itzy will serve us charisma, they will serve us dance, they will serve us beauty, and they will serve us cringey songs.

    ITZY peaked with WANNABE , LOCO shouldve been the revival but it was too late

    life's too short had 695k on its debut. Illusion is the most streamed track by 4th gen group. Not bad considering aespa songs mostly are polarizing

    JYP doesn't know what to do with them musically

    Itzy music wasn't that unbearable until you read their lyrics. and even the way they sing those lines, very childish and annoying for some reasons. it feels like they just read it without emotion, not singing.

    I think JYPE is targetting the US market, the "Disney demographic" with such songs for Itzy.


    Like the music or not, what matters is whether that strategy pays off.


    Of course, it will not be appreciated by fans, who are used to other sounds from them.


    I don't dig the genre, nor am I that demographic, but checked with few US YAs, they like the song.


    So we will see.

    it always thought their debut was success was 1/2 hype. Never liked their music


    and JYP in my opinion never had good music. Maybe SKZ.


    Now people are going one gg after another of hype groups : aespa, New Jeans, Ive, LeSserafim. They are doing good, but they are not doing great.
